My thoughts aren't linear.
I think in the shape of word webs,
and snow globes.
With a clustered construction of language,
and flurries of polaroid-printed memories.

With a clustered construction of language,
and flurries of polaroid-printed memories.
Carrying stained emotions like ink spills,
and healing with shoelace sewing kits.
I stumble across continents building
maps with memories stuck to my periphery
by cork-board tacks.
Wiping insect carcasses off
of chrysalis windshields,
and searching for better reasons
to sacrifice momentum.

This is a poem that I wrote towards the end of August, entitled Around the Block. I chose to share it with all of you because I realised that although I have repeatedly discussed my love for writing in these blog posts, most of you reading them have never seen any of my creative work before.
This thought struck me during a lesson on credibility given in class today. Since Propel is so presentation heavy, we must be able to understand how to earn an audience's trust. We have to be able to shuffle through, and select information appropriately. So, as a class we went over various components involved with identifying credibility. Such as; sources, bias, or reputation. I had a bit of an epiphanal moment when I realised that you guys and can't just assume that my blogs are justified. I can't rely on my reputation as a writer, when several of you have never spoken to me in person, or read my creative work.
After this realisation, I decided that I needed to prove that I am at least somewhat credible. I hope that by showing you this piece, I have left a positive impression, and a basis with which to judge my creative work. Currently I am considering creating, and publishing an anthology for my final project, so this is a bit of a sneak-peak as to what that could possibly look like. I am very much looking forward to the rest of this semester, and I appreciate every pair of eyes willing to indulge in my weekly rambling.
