Now that I have finished running the writers workshops at Minnetonka, I am able to move on to the creation of the book itself.
I have already chosen a title and a cover design over the christmas break, and have been able to outline all of my writing for the rest of the book. I began by writing the conclusion, and working backwards. Once I had written the ending, it became more clear what exactly I wanted to say.
I decided to keep with a theme of emotional bubbles, and to discuss the way that kids isolate feelings and memories. So in order to keep with the theme, I took the last line from the conclusion into consideration, and decided to title the book Popped and use bubble art to create the cover.
All I have left to do for my project now, is to finish writing the book, collect a few forms from students, and design the book in InDesign. As much as this seems like a simple three step process, two of these things are extremely time consuming. Paired with writing the english exam, my final reflection, and final presentation, I will be a very busy person over the next three weeks.
