Christmas traditions are very abundant in my family. Christmas eve, christmas day, and even boxing day are always filled with cheer and other cheesy christmas cliches, as well as my family's unique twist on the holiday. My christmas routine ever since I was a kid has been filled with food, games, and presents. We even set out carrotts for santas reindeer along with the signature milk and cookies.
Along with family gatherings and traditions, funny/ embarrassing stories tend to arrise. So I thought I would share a couple of mine with you. I will probably regret this forever but I'm gonna do it anyway.
1) I am notorious for being sick on christmas. In fact, I have probably spent 75% of my christmas celebrations trying to not die from sickness. Now, picture seven year old me on christmas, with the most snot filled sinuses ever. Once you have that mental image, you're not a far cry from picturing the time I almost hit my aunts knee with a snot rocket.
She holds a grudge against me for that event to this day.
2) I will pobably never forget the time my little brother ate so many chicken fingers, that he woke up in the middle of the night and threw up everywhere. Not everyones christmas eve was the best that year. You should most definitely feel bad for my poor mother.
Despite the growing number of embarrassing stories,my family has always valued christmas. I can't explain to you the excitement that comes with our viewing of The Grinch on christmas eve, or the pancake breakfast we have every christmas morning. It's crazy how when your with people, or are doing somthing that you care about, all of the 'bad' or embarrassing moments don't seem to really matter.
